Orthotrichum scanicum, nový druh bulharské flóry

The moss species Orthotrichum scanicum has been discovered during a revision by the author in Podpira’s herbarium from the Rila Mts. in Bulgaria. It represents the first finding of this species in Bulgaria and it also completes knowledge of its distribution in SE Europe. O. scanicum is an endangered species in all Europe; this fact is documented by data from the former Czechoslovakia: 9 localities are known, but only 3 localities are younger then 50 years.
