The following article analyzes the nomenclatural and taxonomic differences between the recent Polish and Czech check-lists of mosses. Existing differences are grouped into five categories. The first category summarizes the author citations, which must be corrected in the Czech list (part a) and the Polish catalogue (part b), respectively (the corrections appear in bold). The following three categories list the differences in the generic classification of species, different taxonomic rank used and different names used for nomenclatural reasons. The last category summarizes the newly proposed genera and combinations or resurrected combinations in the Polish check-list that are not in common use. Author’s comments on some of the listed differences are included.
