Distribution of the three species of the genus Cinclidotus – C. aquaticus, C. fontinaloides and C. riparius occurring in the Czech Republic was reviewed. Available herbarium specimens were checked and primary historical references concerning the distribution of Cinclidotus species were included. Only C. riparius is now regarded being the extant member of the Czech bryoflora, though Critically Endangered (last observed 1985 but not sufficiently re-searched at its locality), C. fontinaloides needs to be re-classified from Critically Endangered to Data Deficient-Vanished and C. aquaticus is an Extinct species.
