Thermophilous grasslands in Bohemia reconsidered – thread through Prague botanical school

Literature references are added to the recently published scientific essay by J. Kubíková (Thermophilous grasslands in Bohemia – scarlet thread through Prague botanical studies, Zprávy Čes. Bot. Společ. 51: 269–299, 2016).

Commentaries deal not only with the habitat structure and conditions of extrazonal „islands“ of steppe-like communities in the Bohemian part of the Czech Republic, known from the thermophytic phytogeographical region (Skalický 1988), but also with substantial aspects of their geohistorical origin, migration pathways and contributions of new methodologies and (experimental and management) approaches. Specifi remarks are added to the history of botany concerning the twentieth as well as the current century.
