Roste Parmelia omphalodes s. str. v České republice?

The identification of taxa within the Parmelia omphalodes group is relatively difficult, and their distribution has therefore remained poorly understood in the Czech Republic. We revised herbarium material from the main Czech and Slovak herbaria using morphological characters, thin-layer chromatography, and DNA barcoding based on the ITS region for selected specimens. We identified 129 specimens of Parmelia pinnatifida and 24 ones of P. discordans from the Czech Republic. The occurrence of P. omphalodes s. str. was not confirmed in the country. Parmelia pinnatifida occurs mainly on siliceous rocks in humid, often partly shaded, and more or less relict habitats especially in submontane and montane areas. Parmelia discordans was confirmed as a rare species, with most records concentrated on boulder screes and rocky sites in the Brdy Highlands.
