The second volume of a series summarising remarkable phytosociological relevés provides new data on the distribution and ecology of the following communities: (1) basiphilic fir forests recorded in south Bohemia and the Moravian Karst, (2) basiphilic lime forests of rock outcrops developed on limestone and gneiss bedrock in west Moravia, (3) weed community with Hibiscus trionum inhabiting lowland areas in south Moravia, (4) annual halophilous vegetation with Crypsis schoenoides occurring on flooded mineral-rich soils in south Moravia. All discussed communities are rare and endangered in the Czech Republic. They harbour numerous red-list species, therefore the paper should help to get better knowledge of their distribution and ecology and also provide information relevant for nature conservancy.
