The third volume of the series summarizing remarkable phytosociological relevés provides new data and
comments on the ecology, species composition and distribution of five vegetation types in the Czech Republic. Non-forest vegetation is described in three contributions. Disturbed and slightly halophilous vegetation with Carex secalina was recorded in southern Moravia, where it has been hardly recorded in the past
decades. The second contribution provides valuable data on the last remnants of a unique psammophilous
vegetation type (Armerion elongatae, Corynephorion and Thero-Airion alliances) in the Orlice river basin.
Submerged vegetation with Potamogeton alpinus, rare due to its demand for clean water, was recorded
in the Žďárské vrchy hills. Two contributions deal with forest vegetation. Moderately wet lowland oak
-hornbeam forests (Circaeo-Carpinetum association) and scree forests with abundant spring ephemeroids
(Scillo-Fraxinetum association) are reported from southern Moravia as new to the Czech Republic.
