Mech Hedwigia stellata - nový druh bryoflóry

The recently distinguished European species Hedwigia stellata Hedenäs was found as a new species of the bryoflora of the Czech Republic in a mixed population with H. ciliata var. ciliata. The ecology of European Hedwigia taxa is described and a key for identification is given based on Hedenäs (1994) and Erzberger (1996). This note is the first mention of the occurence of H. stellata in the Czech Republic and a more detailed study of the distribution of the genus will follow.
